*Georgia Property Tax Changes for 2011
Congratulations if you purchased a home in 2010. You may have gotten a decrease in your Georgia property taxes. The Georgia legislature in 2010 passed a tax reform bill requiring every Georgia county to review 2010 property sales. If you purchased a home for less money
than the stated assessed value, your tax bill will based on the 2010 sale price. If you purchased a home for more money than the stated assessed value, your tax bill will be based on the assessed value.

Weekly Buyer Deals and Steals
In this weekly feature we review corporate-owned, lender-owned and foreclosure properties that have come on market in the last seven days in Woodstock, North Fulton and East Cobb County- here are the results:
Our favorite “pick” this week is a foreclosure in Woodstock at the Glens at Kingsgate. This home is a 4 bedroom, 2 full bath and 1 half bath home and was built in 2000. Homes in the neighborhood would normally sell at around $200,000- this home is now for sale at $139,000.
Remember, as always, that these “deals” aren’t always what they seem- sometimes banks and corporations list their homes at or near market value regardless of their condition, so you always want to make sure you know what other homes have sold for in the neighborhood/area and how the neighborhood/area is trending in value.

Christmas in Crabapple and Milton Tree Lighting Dec 4
This year on December 4, Milton residents and others nearby have two chances to get in the Christmas spirit!
First up is Christmas in Crabapple, an annual event held this year from 2-5pm. Santa will be on hand for photographs, there will be carriage rides and roving carolers and performances by local choirs.
From 7-9pm, join in the 2nd annual Milton tree lighting at the corner of Hwy 9 and Webb Bridge (southwest corner of the Target shopping center). Again, Santa will be available for photos and there will be refreshments and musical performances.
In the spirit of Christmas and giving, warm clothing donations for local charity The Drake House will be accepted at Christmas in Crabapple and the Marines will be on hand at the tree lighting ceremony to take unwrapped toys benefiting Toys for Tots.
So get out and support our town this Saturday and enjoy the Holiday spirit!
